A Newly Revamped Camp

With just 6 thatched rooms, Koros is designed for small groups looking for a unique wilderness experience. Bookings are exclusive, and rooms can be configured with either twin or double beds. Canvas and shade- net sides open up to capture 270-degree views! Solar fans keep the rooms surprisingly cool even on the hottest of days.

The rooms each have their own en-suite bathroom facilities including hot showers and flush loos.

The open-plan and airy mess area is used for meals and relaxation. The bar is located here too, there are books to read, games to play, and comfy seating to siesta on.

The pool area is breezy, and many spend their afternoons here! Being the highest spot of the camp, it’s a great sundowner spot.

Koros is a charming, beautifully styled camp that blends with the natural semi-desert landscape!

Sightseeing

Lake Turkana, fondly known as The Jade Sea because of its breath taking color, is the biggest desert lake in the World, and the most saline lake in East Africa. The Lake is surrounded by an arid and seemingly extraterrestrial landscape. A day spent on the water taking in the dramatic volcanic landscape, enjoying the birdlife, looking for Nile Crocodiles and seeing the communities that live here is a day to remember.

Northern Kenya by Helicopter

A dawn or dusk helicopter adventure into the wild and remote Turkana region of Northern Kenya, starting with the northern most part of the Suguta Valley where years of erosion and extreme temperatures have created this exceptionally diverse and spectacular landscape.

We fly over lava flows, saline marshes, pockets of palms, and within minutes arrive on white desert sand dunes that roll on for miles and miles, touching down to feel the sand in our toes and take a few photos.  The northernmost feature of the Suguta Valley is Lake Logipi - a shallow soda lake no more than 3 meters deep, with an extreme PH of 14.  The lake is a feeding hub for thousands of flamingos and other migratory water birds.
