LAKE TURKANA BOAT EXPEDITIONS
Nicknamed “The Jade Sea”, Lake Turkana is the world’s largest desert lake.

FLY CAMPING
As the vast expanse of the skies and the sounds of the night surround you, you will have a unique and unforgettable experience of sleeping under the stars.

QUAD BIKING
Explore ancient landscapes and rich cultures in the most adventurous way—on a quad bike. The sandy riverbeds create the perfect natural tracks, leading you deep into the landscape, where few have ventured.

WALKING
Whether it’s a relaxed walk along the dry riverbeds or a challenging hike up the surrounding hills, no visit to Koros is complete without exploring the landscape on foot.

MOUNT KULAL EXPEDITION
Journey to the heights of Mount Kulal, an ancient, eroded volcano rising east of Lake Turkana. This 2-hour drive from Koros takes you from the arid lowlands at 800m to the cool, misty heights of 2,300m above sea level.
As you ascend, temperatures drop dramatically, revealing a lush alpine forest. On a clear day, the views over Lake Turkana are simply breathtaking—a sight few get to experience.

THE CHALBI DESERT
During the dry season, a visit to the Chalbi Desert - meaning “bare & salty” in the Gabra dialect - is an absolute must.
Easily accessible from Koros Camp, this otherworldly landscape stretches endlessly, offering an unforgettable adventure across Kenya’s only true desert.

CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
Koros Camp sits at a crossroads of three fascinating tribes—each with a deep connection to the land and a rich cultural heritage. The Samburu, Rendille & Turkana.

BIRD WATCHING
Koros is a ornithological paradise. You’ll wake up to the sounds of birdsong and can spot all kinds of species right around camp so be sure to pack your Binoculars!
