Since opening in July 2021, Koros Camp—under the Tropic Air and Lattitude Adventures partnership—has welcomed many new guests. Built to blend seamlessly into the landscape, Koros could disappear tomorrow without leaving a trace. Sustainability and harmony with the land, wildlife and people are at the heart of everything we do.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Koros Camp contributes directly to the L’Donyo Mara Conservancy through:
  • Guest conservation fees

  • Land rent, paid monthly

  • Local employment, with all 9 staff from the neighbouring village

These funds support education, food security, and livelihoods, and employ five scouts who help protect the area.

CULTURAL COLLABORATION
Tourism has sparked local enterprise:
  • A Samburu women’s group creates unique, handmade beaded products and light shades

  • Cultural dance experiences with over 100 participants generate direct income for local performers

EDUCATION & HEALTH
We've helped fund a classroom and supplies for Nakron Nursery School, and upgrades at Sirichoi Primary School
  • In partnership with Health Yetu Foundation, we support eye clinics offering life-changing cataract surgeries

WATER ACCESS

In this arid region, water is precious. We are working on a few different projects that will help our neighbouring communities get better access to it.

LOOKING AHEAD

We are proud of what’s been achieved so far—and even more excited about what’s possible. Koros Camp is committed to creating lasting, positive change in the region, working hand-in-hand with the community every step of the way.
